Program/Service Notes:

Far Northern Regional Center is a fixed point of referral for individuals with developmental disabilities and their families. FNRC also provides services from birth on to anyone who is showing a delay in their development or who is at substantially high risk for a developmental disability. FNRC coordinates community resources such as education, recreation, health, rehabilitation and welfare for individuals with developmental disabilities. Far Northern Regional Center will provide services and supports that allow persons with developmental disabilities to live productive and valued lives as welcomed members of their community.
Hours:	8:00 am to 5:00 pm (M-F) - emergency service available on nights and weekends.
Eligibility:	Any resident of the state of California who has a developmental disability which constitutes a substantial handicap. The disability must have originated before the person is 18 years old. Developmental disabilities include mental retardation, cerebral palsy, epilepsy, autism, and other neurological conditions closely related to mental retardation.
Fees:	In most cases, there are no costs for services. The regional center may purchase services based on prior authorization. However, in the case of a child who has a diagnosed developmental disability and who is not eligible for Medi-Cal, a parent may be required to pay a percentage of the cost of case management services. The fee is based on family income.
Intake Process:	Contact the regional center and ask to speak to an intake worker.
Service Area:	Far Northern Regional Center provides services to people residing in northern California who are residents of the following counties: Butte, Modoc, Siskiyou, Glenn, Plumas, Tehama, Lassen, Shasta or Trinity.
