Our mission is to provide quality legal services to empower the poor to identify and defeat the causes and effects of poverty within their community efficiently utilizing all available resources. Legal Services of Northern California provides free legal assistance to individuals and groups who meet income eligibility requirements. Services range from referrals to representation, depending on the client's needs, LSNC priorities and the resources available. The Shasta Regional Office serves Shasta, Trinity, Siskiyou, Lassen and Modoc Counties. Legal Services Provided in the following areas: Housing; Benefit Programs Advocacy; Health Rights Advocacy; Civil Rights Advocacy ; Senior Legal Hotline; Shasta Voluntary Legal Services Program; Assistance to low-income community groups wishing to organize themselves; community legal educatiion to promote awarness of legal rights; Disability and Employment Rights Advocacy- Advocacy and Support for Persons with Disabilities (1-800-444-6188).The following services not provided: Adoption, Custody/Visitation, Small Claims Court, criminal defense, Traffic fines and violations, Credit/collection suits, family law, immigration.
