The caregiver Resource Center of PASSAGES (CRC) provides services to families and caregivers of *adults with brain impairments, and/or other chronic health conditions, and frail elders. The CRC provides information about brain disorders, care option, and services for families and professionals caring for such individuals. The CRC assists caregivers in resolving current issues and planning for immediate and long-term care. * Definition:"Adult with brain impairment" means a person whose brain impairment has occurred after the age of 18 and resulted from one or more of a wide range of organic and neurological disorders. The Caregiver Resource Center (CRC) provides: *Monthly support group meetings in a supportive atmosphere to share experiences and ideas to ease the stress of caregiving. *Individual and family sessions with counselors to offer emotional support to caregivers coping with the strain of the caregiving role. *Respite care provides a period of short-term relief from the stresses of caregiving. Respite care is contingent upon available funding and eligibility status of client at time of availability. *Legal & Financial Consultation: Personal consultation with an attorney experienced with issues such as durable powers of attorney, conservatorship, financial planning and other related matters relevant to caregiving. Contingent upon available funding and eligibility status of client at time of availability. *Family & Professional Training: Specialized workshops and Classes on a variety of topics for caregivers, family members, professionals, and interested others.
